Whirlpool Corporation to Present at J.P. Morgan 18th Annual Homebuilding & Building Products Conference BENTON HARBOR, Mich., May 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) announced today that it will participate in the J.P. prnewswire.com 2025-05-13 20:05:00 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)
Why Whirlpool Shares Surged Today Shares in appliance maker Whirlpool (WHR 4.96%) were up as much as 9.1% in early trading today. The move comes after a significant de-escalation in the trade conflict between the U.S. and China, as both countries agreed to 90 days of easing tariffs on each other. fool.com 2025-05-12 16:42:44 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)
Whirlpool: Why We Believe The Stock Is A Buy After The Q1 Results Whirlpool faces headwinds from declining consumer confidence and tariff policy changes but shows robust performance in MDA Asia and SDA Global segments. Using a dividend discount model, WHR's fair value is estimated at $116 per share, indicating significant upside from the current price of $80. Despite macroeconomic challenges, WHR expects top-line growth and improved free cash flow in 2025. seekingalpha.com 2025-05-12 13:57:15 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)
Whirlpool: After Gaining Tariff Edge, 8.8% Dividend Is Attractive (Rating Upgrade) Whirlpool Corporation reported solid Q1 results in a turbulent operating environment, continuing cost take out. President Trump's tariffs provide Whirlpool a cost edge against previously cost-advantaged Asian competition. Tariffs are a short-term headwind for Whirlpool, but a clear long-term tailwind. Whirlpool's 8.8% dividend should be sustained, making WHR stock attractive. While coming with significant risks, I currently estimate 60% upside to $127.6. seekingalpha.com 2025-05-12 13:50:33 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)
Meet the 9.1%-Yielding Dividend Stock That's a Potential Winner From President Trump's Tariffs During Whirlpool's (WHR -0.44%) first-quarter earnings call in late April, CEO Marc Bitzer said he believes his company will be a "net winner of a new tariff policy." He has a strong case for thinking so, and it looks likely the appliance maker has real potential to see better days ahead. fool.com 2025-05-07 07:55:00 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)
I Almost Bought a Whirlpool Refridgerator, but These 7 Red Flags Scared Me Off Does it seem like new refrigerators just aren’t as good as they used to be? If you’ve thought this, like us, then you’re not alone, and you’re not wrong. After looking for a new fridge we investigated what we saw as rampant price gouging and defective manufacturing. Key Points Whirlpool fridges suffer from planned obsolescence, poor manufacturing, and features that raise the price too high. New technology forces appliances to wear out and break much faster than older appliances. 4 million Americans are set to retire this year. If you want to join them, click here now to see if you’re behind, or ahead. It only takes a minute. (Sponsor) Many people tend to regard Whirlpool (NYSE:WHR) as a reliable and good brand of appliances to purchase. Whirlpool Corp is the parent company of Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Maytag brands. While this isn’t a review of all Whirlpool appliances, we will just look at the refrigerators. #1 Quality Is Declining A whirlpool fridge. Gone are the days of yore when a piece of furniture or appliance was meant to last for decades. The thought of planning for items to be in your life for decades seems like a bygone era. Gone is the motto, “Use It Up, Wear It Out, Make It Do, or Do Without.” Quality is Declining A whirlpool fridge. Today, profit generation is the only thing that matters, and the push toward making appliances that are expensive yet easily replaced urges consumers to buy appliances that decline inequality every year, which is where it was always intended to end up anyway. While some refrigerators feature interesting abilities like touch screens, internet, and other bells and whistles, the actual reliability of the fridge, and its ability to keep things cold, has dropped over time. #2 Planned Obsolescence A whirlpool fridge. One of the tactics that the Capitalist Aristocracy employs is to speed up the amount of time it takes for you, a hard-working person, to exchange finite hours of your life for enough money to purchase the same item from them again. This is called planned obsolescence. An example of this is smartphone companies sending your device updates to decrease the battery capacity so you want to buy a new one or make some of the storage capacity only accessible through a paid subscription. Most companies plan for obsolescence in their revenue projections. Does Whirlpool design and plan for its newer models to become obsolete? Are all refrigerators just poor quality now? Why do older fridges seem to work indefinitely while newer ones stop working for the smallest reasons? Planned Obsolescence A whirlpool fridge. For Whirlpool specifically, we aren’t making any accusations. It is interesting, however, that there are so many recent customer reviews complaining about the extremely short lifespan of their brand-new refrigerators. Take this review in 2023, from Niels entitled Whirlpool Can Go Beep Itself (Edited for Clarity): “Got a Whirlpool Freezer a few years back. Terrible machine. If you keep the door open for a few minutes, a beep alarm goes off and won’t stop…The only solution is to unplug it, remove all the food, and wait 24 hours to start it again. I had to do that 5x in the 2nd year of operating. What a pain in the ass. Just a junk machine, I hate the brand now.” Or this review in 2023 from Pissed entitled Whirlpool Sucks: “Have a Whirlpool side-by-side fridge. Ice maker stopped working after 2 years. Tech told me the wiring harness is cut in half where it goes into the door by the hinge. Cut from opening and closing the door. $1500!!! Absolutely Ridiculous!” #3 Class-Action Lawsuits A whirlpool fridge. There is a current class-action lawsuit paying out individual class members up to $300 over alleged cooling defects in certain models. Allegedly, the defects in the refrigerator models caused ice and frost build-up on the evaporator, which resulted in the refrigerator’s inability to keep food at appropriate temperatures—class members had to pay for at least one Frost Clog Issue repair. Class members can receive up to $300 for past replacements and repairs. The exclusion deadline was March 21, 2025. #4 Defective Wiring Lawsuits Photo of a fridge. Cited as the reason for a separate class action, which is ongoing, a defective wiring (exposed bare wires) issue has resulted in expensive repairs for all the Class Members. This suit is against Whirlpool Corporation, as certain refrigerator models fall under every one of its appliance brands. Most class members are even saying that their home warranty insurance is declining to cover the exposed wiring. Defective Wiring Lawsuits Photo of a fridge. Brian Wood, a hopeful class member, said, “When the repairman arrived to troubleshoot the icemaker on our KitchenAid KRSC703HPS01 Side-by-side refrigerator/ freezer, the first thing he did was open the door and check the wiring harness in at the bottom inside the freezer door. The harness had cracked open, exposing the broken wires. Only two wires were still connected, and all the others were broken. He said it happens all the time, and that we’ll need a new door for $1,200.” #5 French Door Alignment Issues Photo of a fridge. One of the most popular styles of refrigerators in the US is the French-door style. This is when the top portion has a French door mechanism with a pull-out freezer on the bottom. The way it opens up in the middle of the door is supposed to offer more storage space. French Door Alignment Issues Photo of a fridge. While aesthetically pleasing, many customers complain of French-door alignment issues. When the French doors aren’t aligned properly, it creates temperature fluctuations, inability to activate the door switch, can cause frost buildup, and the doors might not seal completely. This issue is apparently so common that Whirlpool even has instructions on its website on how to manually re-align the French doors yourself. #6 Ineffective Fingerprint Resistance Photo of a fridge. Another common complaint of Whirlpool products regards fingerprint resistance. The stainless steel is supposed to be coated with a layer of fingerprint-resistant finishes. This permanent clear topcoat is meant to showcase the sleek stainless steel of the refrigerator, without the common issue of fingerprint smudging that can happen to uncoated appliances. Many complain that Whirlpool’s fingerprint-resistant coating is ineffective, and even harder to clean than normal stainless steel. #7 Inconsistent Customer Service Photo of a fridge. Ratings and customer feedback for its customer service are all over the place. With the variations in reviews, it’s interesting that there hasn’t been more effort on Whirlpool’s part to mitigate this issue. There are frequent reports of not being able to speak to a human, not being told when deliveries will arrive, and most importantly, not having a direct way to access repair costs or replacements that are still under warranty. Most describe this process as long, painful, and annoying. Better Dividend Stock: Whirlpool vs. UPS The 6.8% dividend yield of UPS (UPS 1.80%) stock and the 9.1% dividend yield of Whirlpool (WHR 2.87%) stock are obviously attractive for passive income-seeking investors. However, there's no such thing as a free lunch, and their yields reflect some doubt in the marketplace around the sustainability of their dividends. fool.com 2025-05-05 08:31:00 Czytaj oryginał (ang.)

These 12 Refrigerator Brands Will Revolutionize Your Kitchen The ability to preserve food via cold temperatures completely revolutionized how humans consume and live their day-to-day lives. Today, having a home refrigerator is the norm, but many modern versions go far beyond just keeping your food cold. Some of these new gadgets have features like Bluetooth technology, built-in coffee makers, and multi-colored exteriors. (These are the appliance brands to avoid.) We searched through customer reviews, lawsuits, consumer reports, Reddit posts, and even YouTube reviews to bring you the 12 best refrigerator brands. If you’re in the market for a new refrigerator, you will quickly learn there are many different brands and models to choose from. Whether you want a refrigerator with French doors or a bottom freezer or you’re looking for an energy-efficient model, you can’t go wrong with the following brands. (These are the most popular appliance brands according to Baby Boomers.) Why Are We Covering This? Any of these top companies could be a potentially great investment. Just about everyone buys a refrigerator these days, so it isn’t surprising that refrigerators have a global market size of over 93 billion USD. That’s expected to grow at a CAGR of around 7% over the next decade or so. All of this revenue is largely focused on a few companies, though, such as those we’ll discuss in this article. Some of these companies are also great dividend stocks. 1. LG LG is an exceptionally popular brand that is constantly coming out with new high-tech features. LG is a popular choice for those wanting a feature-rich refrigerator, as this company tends to lead the way in innovation. For instance, they’re known for their door-in-door shelf system, which allows you to see inside without opening the door, potentially reducing cold air loss (and just looking cool, let’s be honest). If you want the newest refrigerator features, LG is typically the best way to go. LG’s Top Refrigerators When choosing a fridge, you should consider how much freezer space you use. LG is constantly updating its products as they develop new technology. Currently, its LG Counter-Depth French-Door Refrigerator with Craft Ice Maker is a popular choice for its sleek design and unique ice options. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want fancy ice? LG’s products tend to be more expensive than others, but you’re paying to have the newest thing out there. 2. Samsung Samsung makes tons of different products, ranging from kitchen appliances to phones. Samsung may be best known for its phones, but it is also a top contender for high-tech refrigerators. Many of their fridges have touchscreens, which allow you to monitor temperature, make a grocery list, and even watch cooking videos. They regularly compete with LG to develop the newest, best features. Despite their sleek counter-depth design, Samsung’s SpaceMax Technology ensures that these refrigerators offer a spacious interior. Samsung’s Top Refrigerators Samsung’s refrigerators tend to have more high-tech features than others. Samsung has several best-selling refrigerators. However, the Bespoke Refrigerator is extremely popular thanks to its customizable design. It comes in many potential finishes and configurations, allowing buyers to purchase the best option for their needs and preferences. 3. Whirlpool Whirlpool caters to more budget-savvy individuals. Whirlpool (NYSE: WHR) has been a trusted brand for a very long time. This brand tends to be more affordable and focused on reliability instead of the newest high-tech features. These refrigerators are a great choice for those who just want to keep their food cold! Whirlpool also focuses heavily on energy efficiency. Whirlpool’s Top Refrigerators While they may not be exceptionally high-end, Whirlpool’s refrigerators are absolutely functional. The Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is one of their most popular units, as it’s budget-friendly and offers ample space. 4. GE GE is best known for its very durable, reliable appliances. GE refrigerators are best known for their durability. This company also has tons of different models, ranging from top freezers to bottom freezers to French-door styles. GE’s models provide tons of options for just about any kitchen layout. GE is generally considered a mid-level company. It doesn’t sell the cheapest fridges, but they aren’t the most expensive options, either. GE’s Top Refrigerators GE’s refrigerators are a great option for those with larger families, as they tend to be big. Today, the GE French-door refrigerators are the most popular option. They have a large capacity, making them perfect for the modern family. They also include all the desired features, including customizable storage and a built-in water dispenser. 5. KitchenAid KitchenAid is probably best known for its stand mixers, but it also makes other appliances. KitchenAid is an extremely popular kitchen brand, but you may now know it also sells refrigerators. These fridges tend to have stainless steel finishes and professional-style designs. KitchenAid may be the best option if you want more of a statement piece in your kitchen. Many of KitchenAid’s refrigerators offer features like French-doors, spacious interiors, and built-in water filtration. While they aren’t super high-tech, they certainly look fancy. KitchenAid’s Top Refrigerators KitchenAid is probably not the best option for those on a strict budget. While KitchenAid offers tons of different models, the company’s French-door units tend to be the most popular. These models are sleek and high-end looking, though they are also on the pricier side (as you might expect from this company). 6. Maytag Maytag is an exceptionally reliable brand, though it may not have the fancy features other brands do. Maytag is a reliable brand known for its dependable products. While its fridges aren’t the fanciest, they are reliable and durable. Plus, they aren’t nearly as expensive as some other brands on this list.
